Lash Extensions & Lash Lifts FAQ

~ Are lash extensions safe?

Yes, lash extensions are safe, when done by a trained and certified stylist! The adhesive used does not contain detectable levels of formaldehyde and contains the same ingredients used in sutureless wound closure. Lash extensions are made from a polyester fiber material that carries minimal risk of allergic reaction. Yet, allergies can develop at any time - so please consult your lash artist if you have concerns!

~ Will lash extensions damage my own natural lashes?

Lash extensions that are properly applied will not damage your natural lashes. Damage can be caused, however, by improper aftercare (picking/rubbing your lashes, poor hygiene, sleeping on them, excessive makeup, etc).

~ How long will my lashes last?

Lash extensions can last up to 4 weeks (depending on your hair growth and shed cycle), but most clients prefer to keep them full and beautiful by getting them filled in every 2-3 weeks. You can make your lash extensions last longer by keeping them clean and brushed out, avoiding oil-based products, and skipping the mascara.

~ What should I expect at my lash extensions appointment?

For your initial appointment, you will be required to complete an intake and consent form. A patch test can be done, by request, if you have a history of sensitivities to any products used. Recommendations on lash length and style, based on the shape of your eyes, face, and eyebrows, will be discussed. Then, just lay back and relax while lashes are applied! You should expect to lay as quietly as possible for up to 2 hours (3-4 for volume lashes) on a heated massage table where every effort will be made to ensure your comfort! Blankets, music, aromatherapy, and body pillows/cushions are provided for each client. Naps are highly encouraged! Please keep talking to a minimum.

~ What is a lash lift?

A lash lift is a semi permanent procedure that lifts and curls your natural lashes, lasting up to 6 weeks. Combined with a tint, it’s a great way to give your lashes the illusion of using a lash curler and mascara, without the damage and mess!

~ What can I expect at my lash lift appointment?

After the initial consultation, you’ll lay back on a comfy heated massage table for 45-60 minutes while your lashes are curled, and then tinted using a vegetable-based dye.

~ Is there maintenance required with lash lifts?

The only maintenance required is to avoid steam and moisture within 24 hours of the lash lift procedure. After that, enjoy maintenance-free lashes! Since your natural lashes shed and grow new, straighter hairs, most clients come in every 6-8 weeks to freshen up the lift, curl and tint to their lashes. Unlike extensions, it is ok to wear mascara on your lash lift.

Lash Policies:

If you have concerns about allergic reactions or sensitivities to extensions, please request a patch test (consisting of approx. 10 extensions placed on each eye. Allergies typically reveal within 24 hours.)

Please do not drink caffeine before your appointment. Caffeine or drugs that create a jittery state make the eyelids twitch, which prevents clean isolation of lashes. This affects your retention and can lead to lash loss.

Please keep chatting to a minimum, as talking causes the eyelids to twitch and blink. In order to have the best, longest lasting lashes possible, it is imperative to lay still - no caffeine, no talking. This is your time and your money - make the most of it by allowing yourself some quiet time.

Fills of another lash artist's work will be done on a case-by-case basis. Consultations are required if you currently have lash extensions and are new to Trifecta BodyBar. Full removal and a fresh new set of lash extensions may be necessary, depending on the current state of your lashes.

I will fix minor issues in the first 24-hours for free. After the first 24-hours, adding lashes will be billed at the standard fill rate. If you notice dramatic, unforced loss of lashes in the first 24 hours (more than 15, not caused by picking/pulling), please contact Jennifer immediately for consultation and corrective work.

No refunds will be given for any reason. Credit may be offered on a case-by-case basis.
